Inside Old Portland Hardware is Portland’s newest vintage plumbing store, Portland Vintage Plumbing; Thursday night we attended a gathering to celebrate its Grand Opening.  Owner, Brenda Wasco, has just the right fixtures, faucets, and accessories for your vintage bathrooms and kitchens…including a very nice line of vintage-styled exhaust fans.:)

And Old Portland Hardware’s owner, Bret Hodgert, has just the right architectural salvaged treasures for your home.  He has done an impeccable job of creating an inviting, non-overwhelming, high-class, boutique experience with prices that will shock you…in a good way.

Between the two stores, there is a wealth of knowledge and genuine smiles to share…with products you’re sure to fall in love with.

OLDHOUSEFAIRTENT_150I just got back from the Architectural Heritage Center’s vendor meeting for the Old House Fair that I mentioned in the last post; it’s going to be a really fantastic event!
Home Depot has generously donated free hot dogs and pop to attendees and I heard many companies divulge their great raffle prizes; we are donating a grille of your choice. It’s going to be a relaxed atmosphere (free of sales pitches), with short programs if you so choose, products, and a wealth of information.
Essentially, it’ll be a great day of chatting with other old home enthusiasts, over a hot dog…and we’ll let you know if you have any ketchup on your face. 😉

Hello Out There…

HeresJohnny smallerWell, we finally had Bob Paltrow, our web designer genius and friend behind all that you see, link up this blog so that we could say “hello” and be in better communication with you about things like:  A great new plumbing store, an Old House Fair, a client that orders a particularly fantastic color combinaiton, or when we want to let you know about new products.
It seems as though a lot of you have the same ventilation predicaments and are searching for an answer – this blog will address many of those questions. Some of you want a full fan, some of you want a grille for an existing fan, some of you want a custom faceplate to hide unfinished drywall or electrical wiring, some of you aren’t sure what you are looking for but you are searching for a solution;  it’s  a pleasure talking with all of you.
We started this company because we couldn’t find what we were looking for and we weren’t going to settle.  If we can help you creatively find a solution to your ventilation needs, we’d be delighted!
Many Kind Regards,
Johnny and Nicole
